Philosophy

The search for immortality has a long history, embodied in the grand schemes of the world’s great religions and philosophies, and in the dreams of those who have sought to transcend the limitations of their physical bodies through magic and elixirs.

In the present day there is a growing community of people who, instead of waiting for the supernatural to deliver some form of immortality, focus on the search for Physically Realisable Immortality (PRI) through advances in science, medicine, and technology.

However, PRI should not be thought of as an all or nothing goal of becoming an indestructible entity that will always exist. Instead, it should be considered an endless journey, as new challenges to further life extension arise, and are met.

Such a journey could take many forms. It would allow individuals to explore many paths that would otherwise be denied to them by death. This multiplicity of choices means that a deeper understanding of how to live an unlimited life is required.

Some paths that can be taken on the infinite road ahead are potentially harmful or dystopian in character. Instead, an appreciation is needed of how to enjoy forever by following those paths that are positive and fulfilling.
